Identification of the bulk modulus coefficient in the acoustic equation from boundary observation: a sentinel method

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2023
In this paper, we consider an acoustic equation with incomplete data, where the bulk modulus coefficient and initial conditions are partially known. Our goal is to get information about the bulk modulus coefficient independently of the initial conditions

Averaged Control Problems Governed by a Semilinear Distributed Systems

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2023
In this work, we consider the regional averaged controllability (RAC) problem governed by a class of semilinear hyperbolic systems. We start by giving the definitions of the exact and approximate RAC systems.

Controllability for a Wave Equation with Moving Boundary

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
We investigate the controllability for a one-dimensional wave equation in domains with moving boundary. This model characterizes small vibrations of a stretched elastic string when one of the two endpoints varies. When the speed of the moving endpoint is

Regional boundary observability for linear time-fractional systems

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2022
In the present paper, we investigate the possibility of reconstructing the initial state, of a time-fractional system with Caputo fractional derivative, on a subregion B of the boundary ∂Ωof the evolution domain Ω.

A Filter-Based Feature-Engineering-Assisted SVC Fault Classification for SCIM at Minor-Load Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In most manufacturing industries, squirrel cage induction motors (SCIMs) are essential due to their robust nature, high torque generation, and low maintenance costs, so their failure often times affects productivity, profitability, reliability, etc ...

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...

A Perspective on Interactive Theorem Provers in Physics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Into an interactive theorem provers (ITPs), one can write mathematical definitions, theorems and proofs, and the correctness of those results is automatically checked. This perspective goes over the best usage of ITPs within physics and motivates the open‐source community run project PhysLean, the aim of which is to be a library for digitalized physics

Mild Focal Cooling Decouples Dendrites to Reconfigure Cortical Output

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mild cooling of the cortical surface selectively modulates apical dendritic excitability, plasticity, and somato‐dendritic coupling, while uncoupling these effects from basal dendrites, and reshapes apical‐driven responses in barrel cortex during whisker touch.
