Abstract We present new calcite microstructural, petrofabric, and grain size data from high‐pressure marbles, integrated with microstructural observations from associated greenschist‐facies rocks, to investigate spatio‐temporal variations in deformation intensity during the exhumation of the Cycladic Blueschist Unit in southern Syros Island (Cycladic ...

With increasing precipitation, the relationships between basin‐average 10Be erosion rate, hillslope gradient and ksnQ change: nonlinearity between erosion rate and ksnQ rises, threshold hillslope gradient decreases and characteristic hillslope length grows. However, large uncertainties obscure these trends.

Campaign-style U-Pb titanite petrochronology: along-strike variations in timing of metamorphism in the Himalayan Metamorphic Core [PDF]
Present-day along-strike heterogeneities within the Himalayan orogen are seen at many scales, from variations within the deep architecture of the lithospheric mantle, to differences in geomorphologic surface processes.

Abstract The India‐Eurasia convergence is a long‐term, ongoing process despite the continental collision and associated velocity reduction from ∼15 to 20 cm/yr in the Late Cretaceous‐earliest Eocene to ∼4–5 cm/yr (since ∼40 Ma). Previous studies that impose Indian plate motion imply an external force driving long‐term convergence, continental ...

Tibet, the Himalaya, Asian monsoons and biodiversity - In what ways are they related? [PDF]
Prevailing dogma asserts that the uplift of Tibet, the onset of the Asian monsoon system and high biodiversity in southern Asia are linked, and that all occurred after 23 million years ago in the Neogene. Here, spanning the last 60 million years of Earth

High-frequency Holocene glacier fluctuations in the Himalayan-Tibetan orogen
Abstract Holocene glacial chronostratigraphies in glaciated valleys spread throughout the Himalayan-Tibetan orogen, including the Himalaya, Tibet, Pamir, and Tian Shan, are developed using a landsystems approach, detailed geomorphic mapping, and new and published 10Be surface exposure dating. New studies in the Kulti valley of Lahul and the Parkachik
