Hinge Atlas: relating protein sequence to sites of structural flexibility
Background Relating features of protein sequences to structural hinges is important for identifying domain boundaries, understanding structure-function relationships, and designing flexibility into proteins.

Compliant joints are flexible elements that allow displacement due to the elastic deformations they experience under the action of external loading. The flexible parts responsible for these displacements are known as flexure hinges.

Probability density function characterization of multipartite entanglement
We propose a method to characterize and quantify multipartite entanglement for pure states. The method hinges upon the study of the probability density function of bipartite entanglement and is tested on an ensemble of qubits in a variety of situations ...

Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

3D‐Printed Serial Snap‐Through Architectures for Programmable Mechanical Response
A serial snap‐through architecture is realized using compact 3D‐printed von Mises truss units arranged in a staged cascade. Their geometry and boundary conditions program multistage mechanical responses with plateaux and re‐hardening regimes. An inverted‐compliance model predicts these behaviors and enables analytical design of programmable force ...

New empirical stiffness equations for corner-filleted flexure hinges [PDF]
This paper investigates the existing stiffness equations for corner-filleted flexure hinges. Three empirical stiffness equations for corner-filleted flexure hinges (each fillet radius, r, equals to 0.1 l; l, the length of a corner-filleted flexure hinge)

Experimental Investigation of the Shear Resistance of Concrete Hinges Under a Biaxial Load
Concrete hinges can withstand extremely high loads and rotations, while requiring only minimal maintenance. Their use is widespread, mainly in bridge construction, but they also find applications in the prefabrication of tunnel segments.

This study investigates electromechanical PUFs that improve on traditional electric PUFs. The electron transport materials are coated randomly through selective ligand exchange. It produces multiple keys and a key with motion dependent on percolation and strain, and approaches almost ideal inter‐ and intra‐hamming distances.
