Impacts of the Australian Black Summer Fires on Bat Occupancy and Activity: The Role of Traits and Conservation Status

The response of bats to Australian megafires was assessed one year after fires. High severity fire had a negative effect on total bat activity and the activity or occupancy of six species, while a further 10 species was not associated with any fire covariate. Overall, bat responses were complex and not easily predicted by traits alone.

In the early 20th century, British officials in south India designated multiple castes as inherently criminal under the Criminal Tribes Act (CTA).
