Magnetic resonance imaging‐guided transurethral ultrasound ablation for benign prostatic obstruction: 1‐year clinical outcomes of a phase II study

open access: yesBJU International, EarlyView.
Objectives To evaluate the safety and efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)‐guided transurethral ultrasound ablation (TULSA) as a minimally invasive alternative for benign prostatic obstruction (BPO). Patients and Methods This prospective, single‐centre, early phase II study (NCT03350529) included 30 men with BPO scheduled for primary ...

Quantitative analysis of bone reactions to relative motions at implant-bone interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Connective soft tissues at the interface between implants and bone, such as in human joint replacements, can endanger the stability of the implant fixation. The potential of an implant to generate interface bone resorption and form soft tissue depends on

A Robotic Prosthesis for an Amputee Drummer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
The design and evaluation of a robotic prosthesis for a drummer with a transradial amputation is presented. The principal objective of the prosthesis is to simulate the role fingers play in drumming. This primarily includes controlling the manner in which the drum stick rebounds after initial impact.

Additive manufacturing of ceramics via the laser powder bed fusion process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Volume 22, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM) of ceramics presents both exciting opportunities and significant challenges, particularly with the laser‐based AM processes. Ceramics are known for their special properties, such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and temperature stability, but their inherent brittleness and high processing demands make AM more
