SUBHEPATIC MIGRATION OF A HIP PROSTHESIS
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1996The intrapelvic migration of an acetabular cup is a known complication of hip arthroplasty (Eftekhar and Nercessian 1989) but it is usually associated with pain or visceral complications. We report an exceptional case of migration which was painless and without any such complications. Case report.

Cone prosthesis for the hip joint
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, 2000The shape of the proximal segment of the femur must be taken into account when implanting femoral endoprostheses, especially those intended for cementless anchorage. Numerous femoral prostheses are available for the proximally broadly extending, "trumpet-shaped" morphology.

Furlong Hydroxyapatite-Coated Hip Prosthesis vs the Charnley Cemented Hip Prosthesis
The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2010We report the results of a prospective trial comparing uncemented Furlong hydroxyapatite-coated total hip arthroplasty and cemented Charnley total hip arthroplasty. One hundred ninety-one patients were allocated into 2 groups depending on their year of birth.

Topological optimization in hip prosthesis design
Biomechanics and Modeling in Mechanobiology, 2009With particular interest on total hip arthroplasty (THA), optimization of orthopedic prostheses is employed in this work to minimize the probability of implant failure or maximize prosthesis reliability. This goal is often identified with the reduction of stress concentrations at the interface between bone and these devices.

Acta chirurgiae orthopaedicae et traumatologiae Cechoslovaca, 2001
50 years ago, prosthetic replacement of the hip joint ushered in a new epoch in orthopaedics. Total hip replacement made it possible to remove a severely diseased, painful hip and restore normal function and a normal quality of life to the afflicted patient.
