Pest risk assessment of Amyelois transitella for the European Union

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 20, Issue 11, November 2022., 2022
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest risk assessment of Amyelois transitella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), the navel orangeworm, for the EU. The quantitative assessment considered two scenarios: (i) current practices and (ii) a requirement for chilled transport. The assessment focused on

Evaluation of tropical–temperate transitions: An example of climatic characterization in the Asian Palmate group of Araliaceae

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 109, Issue 9, Page 1488-1507, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Premise There has been a great increase in using climatic data in phylogenetic studies over the past decades. However, compiling the high‐quality spatial data needed to perform accurate climatic reconstructions is time‐consuming and can result in poor geographical coverage. Therefore, researchers often resort to qualitative approximations. Our

Molecular phylogeny and macroevolution of Chaitophorinae aphids (Insecta: Hemiptera: Aphididae)

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 47, Issue 2, Page 303-314, April 2022., 2022
The subfamily Chaitophorinae and two constituent tribes, Siphini and Chaitophorini, were retrieved as monophyletic. Chaitophorinae originated on Acer from eastern Asia during the Late Cretaceous to early Palaeocene. The origins of Siphini and Chaitophorus + Lambersaphis were associated with host shift.
