Polyethylene Glycol-mediated Transformation of Drechmeria coniospora
Drechmeria coniospora is a nematophagous fungus and potential biocontrol agent. It belongs to the Ascomycota. It is related to Hirsutella minnesotensis, another nematophagous fungus but, phylogenetically, it is currently closest to the truffle parasite ...

Involvement of loops 2 and 3 of alpha-sarcin on its ribotoxic activity [PDF]
Ribotoxins are a family of fungal ribosome-inactivating proteins displaying highly specific ribonucleolytic activity against the sarcin/ricin loop (SRL) of the larger rRNA, with a-sarcin as its best-characterized member.

Detection of the toxin Hirsutellin A from Hirsutella thompsonii
A total of 162 strains of Hirsutella thompsonii, isolated from infected mites collected worldwide, were examined for the production of Hirsutellin A (HtA). More than half of the broth filtrates exhibited mortality rates superior to 50% when assayed against Galleria mellonella.

Deadly Decomposers: Distinguishing Life History Strategies on the Parasitism‐Saprotrophy Spectrum
Despite being widespread, common, and important to medicine and agriculture, parasitic decomposers are poorly understood. Drawing on literature spanning bacteria to animals, we show that these deadly decomposers follow similar life history strategies regardless of taxon. We define four such strategies, providing diverse biological examples and deriving
