An Integrative Appraisal of the Diversity of the Genus Myotis (Chiroptera, Vespertilionidae) in Chile

open access: yesJournal of Zoological Systematics and Evolutionary Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The taxonomy of Chilean Myotis has long been contentious, particularly regarding the status of M. arescens relative to M. atacamensis and M. chiloensis. Here, we use an integrative framework combining genome‐wide single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), morphometrics, and bioacoustics to reassess lineage boundaries and evolutionary relationships in ...

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 18, Issue 12, Page 1337-1348, December 2025.
Abstract The public's fascination with anatomy has evolved over time and progressed from avoidance of the tainted yet saintly corpse, to their fascination with cabinets of curiosities. open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 57, Issue 6, November 2025.
Over half of emerging human pathogens originate from wildlife, with rodents serving as key zoonotic hosts. This study used ecological trait‐based models to identify rodent traits associated with arenavirus and hepacivirus infections and detect potential host species across the Americas, our models achieve high predictive accuracy (AUC = 0.92–0.96).

High‐phenolic cocoa consumption enhanced cocaine‐induced reinstatement in a conditioned place preference paradigm. While cocoa promoted adult hippocampal neurogenesis, this effect did not mediate drug‐seeking behavior, suggesting a complex interaction between cocoa and cocaine on the reward system ABSTRACT Cocaine is a powerful psychostimulant that ...
