A Case of Primary Intramedullary Infantile Fibrosarcoma With an RBPMS::NTRK3 Fusion and Response to Larotrectinib

open access: yesNeuropathology and Applied Neurobiology, Volume 52, Issue 5, October 2026.
We report a case of primary intramedullary infantile fibrosarcoma (IFS) in a 4‐week‐old infant with rapidly progressive cervical myelopathy. Histology showed a spindle cell tumour with diffuse S100 and pan‐TRK expression. RNA sequencing identified an RBPMS::NTRK3 fusion.

Case of Recovery of a Child with Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2012
Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissues is extremely rare in children. Clinical case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissues in 8-year-old child is described. After complex treatment the child has recovered.

Epidemiology of Canine Cutaneous Histiocytoma: Insights From Age and Topographic Clustering

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 5, Page 780-787, October 2026.
Background: Canine cutaneous histiocytoma (CCH) is a benign Langerhans‐cell tumour that often regresses spontaneously via inflammation. Objectives: To estimate incidence and characterise age and breed–anatomical‐site patterns using two complementary clustering analyses.

ASXL1 in proinflammatory macrophages attenuates inflammatory activation and macrophage‐mediated renal tubular epithelial cell damage in acute kidney injury

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 19, October 2026.
ASXL1 in inflammatory macrophages attenuates renal tubular cell damage through coordinated histone modification of H3K27me3 and H3K4me3 in acute kidney injury. Abstract Macrophages are major contributors to inflammatory responses in acute kidney injury (AKI) and rapidly alter their gene expression through epigenetic regulation.

A case of cutaneous malignant fibrous histiocytoma with multiple organ metastases

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2013
Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a soft tissue sarcoma that most commonly occurs in the extremities and rarely metastasizes cutaneously. A 79-year-old male patient consulted a dermatologist 11 months after recognizing an intractable ulcer on the right ...

Primary Pulmonary Epithelioid Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Sarcoma With SQSTM1::ALK Fusion

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 54, Issue 9, Page E216-E220, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Epithelioid inflammatory myofibroblastic sarcoma (EIMS) is a rare and aggressive variant of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) characterized by epithelioid morphology, atypical features, ALK rearrangements, and early metastatic potential.

Obstructing endobronchial malignant fibrous histiocytoma

open access: yes, 2001
A 58-year-old male patient admitted with malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the left mainstem. Rareness and unusual presentation of malignant fibrous histiocytoma and surgical management for lung salvage made its reporting worthwile. In this localization,

Diagnostic Performance of Conventional Ultrasound Combined With Calcification Parameters in Soft Tissue Masses With Calcification: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesSonography, Volume 13, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate an ultrasound‐based model integrating conventional ultrasound and calcification patterns (US‐CAL) for distinguishing benign from malignant calcified soft tissue masses. Methods This retrospective study analyzed 101 pathologically confirmed soft tissue masses (78 benign, 23 malignant) that ...

Exploring Neutrophil Extracellular Traps in Canine Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Preliminary Study With Translational Insights

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) in Canine Soft Tissue Sarcomas This study investigated the presence of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in canine soft tissue sarcomas using dual immunohistochemistry for citrullinated histone‐3 and myeloperoxidase.
