Resilience of floral scent emission after florivory

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1491-1506, August 2026.
Florivory is thought to affect floral traits, impacting pollination. However, our data suggest a stability in post‐florivory scent emission, which may guarantee the maintenance of pollinator visitation regardless of florivory, indicating a resilience of natural systems with multiple and simultaneous interactions. Systemic infection of tobacco mosaic virus is limited by upward transport and phloem unloading without coat protein

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 127, Issue 3, August 2026.
SUMMARY Coat protein (CP) is widely viewed as essential for systemic infection of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), yet the mechanistic basis of this requirement remains incompletely resolved. In this study, we show that TMV can still achieve long‐distance vascular transport in the absence of CP, but systemic infection becomes intermittent because the ...

Presumed domatia are actually extrafloral nectaries on leaves of Anacardium humile (Anacardiaceae)

open access: yesRodriguésia
Presumed domatia are actually extrafloral nectaries on leaves ofAnacardium humile (Anacardiaceae), a species from the Brazilian savannah, is associated with foraging ants, which leads to the description of the structure of its leaves as domatia. However,
