Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Comparison of CT- and MRI-Based Quantification of Tumor Heterogeneity and Vascularity for Correlations with Prognostic Biomarkers and Survival Outcomes: A Single-Center Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesBioengineering, 2023
Background: Tumor heterogeneity and vascularity can be noninvasively quantified using histogram and perfusion analyses on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

A Local Discrete Feature Histogram for Point Cloud Feature Representation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Local feature descriptors are a critical problem in computer vision; the majority of current approaches find it difficult to achieve a balance between descriptiveness, robustness, compactness, and efficiency. This paper proposes the local discrete feature histogram (LDFH), a novel local feature descriptor, as a solution to this problem.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Nearest Neighbor For Histogram-based Feature Extraction

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2011
AbstractManual grading process of Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) leads to misconduct and human error while inspecting the right category of fruits for the purpose of oil palm production at the mill. It is extremely important to identify the degree of ripeness of FFB are at 95% level of confidence as mentioned by Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

Deep Learning and Histogram-Based Grain Size Analysis of Images

open access: yesSensors
Grain size analysis is used to study grain size and distribution. It is a critical indicator in sedimentary simulation experiments (SSEs), which aids in understanding hydrodynamic conditions and identifying the features of sedimentary environments ...
