Comparison of histochemical methods for the histological analysis of human gingival samples
Introduction: Histological staining techniques are useful in the ultrastructural analysis of tissue samples, including gingival tissue. Objective: Compare the usefulness of three histochemical methods (hematoxylin-eosin, Masson-Goldner and sirius red ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Detection method and breast carcinoma histology [PDF]
AbstractBACKGROUNDThe association between method of detection and breast carcinoma histopathology has not been assessed adequately in a population‐based setting.METHODSAmong women who were included in a population‐based, case‐control study of breast cancer, patients who were newly diagnosed with invasive breast carcinoma were identified from Wisconsin ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

POORLY DIFFERENTIATED FOLLICULAR THYROID CARCINOMA: PROGNOSTIC FACTORS AND RELEVANCE OF HISTOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION [PDF]
Background. Poorly differentiated follicular carcinomas (PDFC) of the thyroid represent an heterogeneous but distinct group of tumors, clinically and histopathogenetically intermediate between follicular-derived well-differentiated and anaplastic ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
