Hematological and histopathological evaluation of wildlife green turtles (Chelonia mydas) with and without fibropapilloma from the north coast of São Paulo State, Brazil

Blood profiles were determined in 47 juvenile green turtles, Chelonia mydas, from São Paulo northern coast, Brazil. Twenty-nine were affected by fibropapillomas and 18 were tumor free.

Different Central Nervous System structures from cattles with experimental rabies were submited to histopathological examination. The results showed encephalitis or myelitis with the following distribution: Ammon’s horn 5 (25%), Cerebelum 10 (50%), Bulb 7(35%), Spinal Cord: cervical 17 (85%), dorsal 19 (95%), lombar 19 (95%) and sacrum 20 (100%).
