application/pdf 地震予知との関連で,近年,古地震研究の重要性が広く世界的に認められるようになってきた.わが国では古地震史料の収集・整理,それに基く研究の歴史は古く,その成果は輝かしいものである.それはほとんど日本語で発表されており,外国人にとっては近づきがたい.本報告は外国人に,わが国の古地震研究の概要を紹介するために記した.とくに第1表を付したのは,そのためである.まず,わが国における古地震史料の収集の歴史をのべ,ひきつづいて,収集史料にもとづく現代地震学的な研究のいくつかを紹介した.わが国の歴史地震の研究は旺んであるが,著者の力量不足もありその一部しか紹介し得なかったことについては御寛容を乞う次第である.
