Earthquakes in Rome during the past one hundred years

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1995
We have studied the seismic response of the city of Rome using the available macroseismic data of local earthquakes which occurred during the past one hundred years.

Modeling and monitoring injectivity evolution during cold CO2 injection with field evidence from aquistore carbon capture and storage operations

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This work integrates 5 years of field data from the Aquistore CCS project with a non‐isothermal THM modeling framework to explain how cold CO2 injection alters injectivity over time. The study shows that sustained cooling near the wellbore reduces effective stresses, promotes tensile micro‑cracking, and leads to semi‑reversible permeability enhancement

Rheological control of Wadati-Benioff zone seismicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Intermediate and deep focus earthquakes in Wadati-Benioff zones are thought to occur in the cold interiors of downgoing slabs which are significantly stronger than the warmer mantle.

Energy evolution‐based damage quantification and failure prediction of fault zone tunnel lining concrete: A novel acoustic emission–strain energy coupling approach

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates the damage evolution and failure mechanisms of tunnel lining concrete in active fault zones through uniaxial compression tests integrated with acoustic emission (AE) monitoring. A strong linear correlation is identified between the AE cumulative absolute energy and the total strain energy, providing a reliable energy‐based ...

The earthquake of 1 January 1837 in Southern Lebanon and N orthern Israel

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1997
All of our 20th-century information for the Levant Fracture and Dead Sea transform fault systems is for a qui- escent period in the seismicity. This is apparent when we consider earlier events which show that infi.equent earthquakes have occurred in the ...

Seismicity associated with the 1991-1995 dome growth at Unzen Volcano [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
From May 1991 until February 1995, seismicity in the crater area of Unzen Volcano, southwest Japan, intensified in conjunction with the growth of a dacite lava dome. We used data from seismic stations located near the crater to identify approximately 580,
