Comparison of oxygen and carbon isotope and manganese evolution curves in bulk carbonate from the historical Bedoulian stratotype (Cassis-La Bedoule area, Provence, France) reveals an important geochemical event (negative δ 13 C and high Mn content) located within the D. deshayesi ammonite Zone and at the base of the R. hambrowi ammonite Subzone.

The area of the town of Etropole is famous for the well-preserved Lower Bajocian ammonites, which can be still often found in the nearly located exposures. These ammonites were the source of a number of species that enabled the recognition of the Bajocian in Bulgaria.

Fossil freshwater fishes from the Pliocene of northern Colombia and the palaeogeography of northern South America

Abstract Freshwater fishes from the northwestern Colombian Andes are reported from the Pliocene Sincelejo and Ware formations. A total of 10 taxa have been identified, involving two orders, five families and nine genera. Characters from dental morphology, fin spines and cranial bones are provided as taxonomic tools for the study of fossil fishes.
