Manganese Neurotoxicity and Familial Disorders of Manganese Transport

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Manganese is the 12th most common element in the Earth's crust and is an essential industrial component. Biologically, this metal plays an important role as a constituent of numerous enzymes. While manganese is required for normal biochemical and physiological processes, manganese excess can lead to significant toxicity, particularly to the ...

Energy Landscapes in Chemical Reactions and Transport

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Kinetics/dynamics of chemical reactivity and transport of chemical species in a solid are both determined by the energy landscape in which they take place. Discussing common grounds but also distinct differences may help in advancing the understanding in both fields.

Spin‐Crossover in a Dinuclear Iron(II) Complex on Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite: An X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy Study

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
This study investigates a spin‐crossover dinuclear Fe(II) complex deposited as a thin film under ultrahigh‐vacuum conditions by a pulsed layer injection technique. Its temperature‐dependent switching behavior, light‐induced excited spin‐state trapping, soft‐X‐ray‐induced excited spin‐state trapping, and temperature‐ and light‐induced spin crossover ...

From Green to Brown: Characterization of the Fast Alteration of Modern Greenish Enamels in Glass Windows

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Accepted Article.
In 2009‐2014, new glass panels were produced by the Stained‐Glass Studio of Canterbury Cathedral (UK) and installed in St Peter's Church (Little Barrington, Burford), St Lawrence's Church (Mereworth, Kent), and Canterbury Cathedral. After a few years, some spots and stains have appeared on the greenish areas of the panels.

Bridging THC Knowledge Gaps for Safer Roads: A Call for Action

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The rising cases of cannabis‐impaired driving present a looming public safety concern that's currently addressed through varying state regulations. However, these regulations are yet validated and lack scientific robustness. One of the roadblocking factors is our insufficient understanding of THC's pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) due to
