Skin microbiome engineering: Challenges and opportunities in skin diseases treatment

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
The skin microbiome plays a crucial role in skin health, influencing barrier integrity, immune responses, and disease susceptibility. Various interventions can reshape the microbiome, broadly categorized into targeted and untargeted approaches. Targeted strategies, such as phage therapy, engineered bacteria, and phage lysins, selectively modulate ...

A panoramic view of cotton resistance to Verticillium dahliae: From genetic architectures to precision genomic selection

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study identified 10 reliable quantitative trait loci (QTLs) governing cotton resistance to V. dahliae in various environments through a genome‐wide association analysis (GWAS) using an upland cotton population. The pyramid of these 10 elite alleles reduced the disease index of cotton to V. dahliae from 70 to 20.

Salinity inundation, profitability, and rice farming exits in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam

open access: yesJournal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, EarlyView.
Abstract We analyze how salinity affects rice profitability and land use in the Vietnam Mekong Delta with a 3‐year data set from 758 rice‐producing households. Our findings reveal a substantial impact of salinity exposure on rice profits at the field level, with high salinity reducing average profits by over 75%.
