All hypertopologies are hit-and-miss [PDF]
We solve a long standing problem by showing that all known hypertopologies are hit-and-miss. Our solution is not merely of theoretical importance.

Note on hit-and-miss topologies [PDF]
The author continues his paper [Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo, II. Ser. 45, No. 1, 75-83 (1996; Zbl 0907.54010)], concerning hit-and-miss topologies on the set \(\text{Cl}(X)\) of nonempty closed subsets of a topological space \(X\), taking always closed sets to produce the hit-and-miss basic open sets (\(\Delta\)-topologies).

The infimal value functional and the uniformization of hit-and-miss hyperspace topologies [PDF]
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the uniformizability of hit-and-miss and proximal hit-and-miss hyperspace topologies defined on the nonempty closed subsets CL ( X ) {\text {CL}}(X) of a Hausdorff uniform space ⟨ X , U ⟩

Hurewicz and Hurewicz-type star selection principles for hit-and-miss topology
In this paper we continue the study of the characterization of selection principles in the hyperspaces CL(X), K(X), F(X) and CS(X), endowed with the hit-and-miss topology, by using ??(?)-networks and c?(?)-covers of a topological space X. Specifically, we prove theorems which characterize the covering properties Hurewicz, strongly star ...

A Low-Complexity Approach to Distributed Cooperative Caching with Geographic Constraints [PDF]
We consider caching in cellular networks in which each base station is equipped with a cache that can store a limited number of files. The popularity of the files is known and the goal is to place files in the caches such that the probability that a user

Baire spaces and hyperspace topologies revisited
It is the purpose of this paper to show how to use approach spaces to get a unified method of proving Baireness of various hyperspace topologies. This generalizes results spread in the literature including the general (proximal) hit-and-miss topologies ...

The subject of hyperspace topologies on closed or closed and compact subsets of a topological space X began in the early part of the last century with the discoveries of Hausdorff metric and Vietoris hit-and-miss topology.

RacoonWW1.3: A Monte Carlo program for four-fermion production at e^+ e^- colliders [PDF]
We present the Monte Carlo generator RacoonWW that computes cross sections to all processes e^+ e^- -> 4f and e^+ e^- -> 4f + gamma and calculates the complete O(alpha) electroweak radiative corrections to e^+ e^- -> W W -> 4f in the electroweak Standard

A cooperative approach for distributed task execution in autonomic clouds [PDF]
Virtualization and distributed computing are two key pillars that guarantee scalability of applications deployed in the Cloud. In Autonomous Cooperative Cloud-based Platforms, autonomous computing nodes cooperate to offer a PaaS Cloud for the deployment ...
