The upgrade of the cryogenics for the HL-LHC will consist of the following: • - The design and installation of two new cryogenic plants at P1 and P5 for high luminosity insertions. This upgrade will be based on a new sectorization scheme aimed at separating the cooling of the magnets in these insertion regions from the arc magnets and considering the ...

HL-LHC BPM System Development Status
2022The demanding instrumentation requirements of the future High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) require 44 newly designed Beam Position Monitors (BPM) to be installed around the ATLAS and CMS experiments in 2026-2028. Three BPM types are now in pre-series production, with two more variants under design.

ATLAS has collected data on and off since 2011 till present time. Run 1 started in 2011 when data was collected at \(\sqrt{s} = 7\) TeV and in 2012 at \(\sqrt{s} = 8\) TeV. The amount of data delivered in those years corresponds to almost 30 fb\(^{-1}\). During those years, there was on average 10–40 collisions per bunch crossing. Run 2, collected at \(

Next Generation Triggers for HL-LHC
Presentation at Seminari INFN . The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) relies on a sophisticated triggering system to efficiently select the most interesting collision events from an immense data stream. As the LHC undergoes upgrades for higher luminosities, the CMS trigger system must evolve to meet increasing ...openaire +1 more source
