Using single‐cell transcriptomic and epigenomic profiling, researchers mapped microglial dysfunction across the lifespan of db/db mice. The authors uncovered a nonlinear microglial remodeling featuring early inflammatory priming, a mid‐stage transcriptional inflection, and late dysfunction.
