Nucleoporin mediated nuclear positioning and silencing of HMR. [PDF]
The organization of chromatin domains in the nucleus is an important factor in gene regulation. In eukaryotic nuclei, transcriptionally silenced chromatin clusters at the nuclear periphery while transcriptionally poised chromatin resides in the nuclear ...

Ketolide agents HMR 3004 and HMR 3647 (telithromycin) inhibit the growth of Plasmodium falciparum in vitro [PDF]
Background: Malaria is on the increase due to emergence of parasite drug resistance and there is thus an urgent need for the development of new antiparasitic drugs effective at low concentrations.

The silenced HMR domain is restricted from spreading by barrier elements, and the right barrier is a unique t-RNA(THR) gene. We show that sequences immediately flanking the silenced domain were enriched in acetylated, but not methylated, histones, whereas the barrier element was associated with a nucleosome-free region.

Cellular Uptake of Two Fluoroketolides, HMR 3562 and HMR 3787, by Human Polymorphonuclear Neutrophils In Vitro [PDF]
ABSTRACT We analyzed the cellular accumulation of two new fluoroketolides, HMR 3562 and HMR 3787, by human polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) in vitro. Both compounds were rapidly taken up by PMN, with a cellular-to-extracellular concentration ratio (C/E) of about 141 (HMR 3562) and 117 (HMR 3787) at 5 min, and this was followed

In Vitro Activities of Two Ketolides, HMR 3647 and HMR 3004, against Gram-Positive Bacteria [PDF]
ABSTRACT The in vitro activities of two new ketolides, HMR 3647 and HMR 3004, were tested by the agar dilution method against 280 strains of gram-positive bacteria with different antibiotic susceptibility profiles, including Staphylococcus aureus , Enterococcus faecalis ,

Bronchopulmonary Disposition of the Ketolide Telithromycin (HMR 3647) [PDF]
ABSTRACT Telithromycin (HMR 3647) is the first member of a new family of antimicrobials, the ketolides, developed specifically for the treatment of community-acquired respiratory tract infections. Telithromycin has proven in vitro activity against both common and atypical respiratory tract pathogens.

Two different Hmr mutations interfere differently with HMR interactome and HMR complex formation.
Effect of Hmr2-tg (A) and HmrdC-tg (C) mutations on the HMR interaction with the HMR complex components and HP1a. Y-axis represents the Log2 fold-change of HMR2-tg/HMRwt-tg and HMRdC-tg/HMRwt-tg, respectively, calculated after normalization of each ...
