Association of different diet quality scores with cardiovascular disease mortality risk in hypertension treatment group

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Hypertension
Objective This study investigated the association between several dietary quality scores—including the healthy eating index-2015(HEI-2015), dietary inflammatory index (DII), and dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH)—and the risk of ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Corrigendum to “Zeaxanthin: Review of Toxicological Data and Acceptable Daily Intake”

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2019
Zeaxanthin is a nutritional carotenoid with a considerable amount of safety data based on regulatory studies, which forms the basis of its safety evaluation.

Cerebral blood flow changes during tilt table testing in healthy volunteers, as assessed by Doppler imaging of the carotid and vertebral arteries

open access: yesClinical Neurophysiology Practice, 2018
Objectives: Using different techniques, reduction of cerebral blood flow (CBF) during orthostatic stress were demonstrated. One study reported flow reduction of the right internal carotid (ICA) and vertebral (VA) artery during orthostatic stress by ...

Clusterization‐Triggered Emission from Cellulose‐Based Luminophores in Dilute Aqueous Solution through Imine Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Clusterization‐triggered emission is realized in dilute aqueous solution by introducing imine linkages into cellulose‐based luminophores. Imine functionalization creates O/N‐rich, hydrogen‐bonded clustered microenvironments that stabilize emissive states and restrict molecular motions. Luminescence is tunable by amine type and multiplicity.

Correlation of Hydronephrosis Index to Society of Fetal Urology Hydronephrosis Scale

open access: yesAdvances in Urology, 2009
Purpose. We seek to correlate conventional hydronephrosis (HN) grade and hydronephrosis index (HI). Methods. We examined 1207 hydronephrotic kidneys by ultrasound. HN was classified by Society of Fetal Urology guidelines.

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Fourier transform of hn(x + p)hn(x − p)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1997
We evaluate Fourier transform of a function with Hermite polynomials involved. An elementary proof is based on a combinatorial formula for Hermite polynomials.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Kapton HN investigations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Kapton HN properties and the properties of the slip additive calcium phosphate dibasic (CaHPO{sub 4}) were investigated. Impurity analyses were performed on the compound by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and ion chromatography (IC). Other analyses on the slip additive included: processing solution -- dissolution analysis, high-explosive compatibility
