Pulsed Ho:YAG oscillator and amplifier

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1981
A pulsed Ho:YAG system has been investigated both as an oscillator and an amplifier. The oscillator was operated normal mode in the TEM 00 mode with a slope efficiency of 0.012. When Q -switched, the laser produced in excess of 80 mJ per pulse with a pulse length of about 30 ns.

Ho:YAG Laser Lithotripsy

2019
This chapter provides an in-depth summary of the application of the holmium:YAG laser in ureteroscopy. First, the basic physics of laser lithotripsy is reviewed. Laser generators and the peculiarities of laser fibers are then discussed, with a special focus on their application in flexible ureteroscopy.

Q-switched Cryogenic Ho:YAG Laser

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2018
We describe the first power scalable, Q-switched, cryogenically cooled, resonantly pumped, Ho:YAG laser oscillator. The output energy was extracted from a confocal resonator with a single-pass pump geometry. Pulsed operation at higher average powers will be reported.

Endoscopic Percutaneous Lumbar Disc Decompression with the Ho:YAG Laser (Ho:YAG EPLDD)

2001
Compared to open nucleotomy, percutaneous lumbar disc decompression (PLDD) has several advantages for treating lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP). PLDD can be performed under local anesthesia and as an outpatient procedure. This allows earlier return to normal daily activity. From the surgical point of view, it requires no muscular and ligamentous

Ho:YAG Single Crystal Fiber Laser

Advanced Photonics 2016 (IPR, NOMA, Sensors, Networks, SPPCom, SOF), 2016
Lasing was demonstrated at 2.09 μm in 0.5% Ho:YAG single crystal fiber (SCF) fabricated using the Laser Heated Pedestal Growth (LHPG) method with output power of 23.5 W and 67.5% slope efficiency.

Resonantly pumped tunable Ho:YAG laser

Laser Physics Letters, 2009
The efficient tunable Ho:YAG laser pumped by Tm:fiber laser of 20 W output power at 1908 nm was developed. For tuning the Lyot filter consisting of a quartz plate of 2.1 mm thickness was applied. The output power of 1.13 W for 3 W of absorbed pump power was reached at the wavelength 2132.8 nm.

Cryogenically cooled, Ho:YAG, Q-switched laser

Applied Physics B, 2020
The authors report on the performance and scalability of a Q-switched, cryogenically cooled Ho:YAG laser. The Ho:YAG slab was resonantly pumped using a continuous wave thulium fibre laser, and the output energy from the oscillator was extracted using a confocal resonator with a single-pass pump geometry, resulting in 135 mJ at 200 Hz with a beam ...

Transmyocardial revascularization with Ho:YAG lasers

LEOS '95. IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society 1995 Annual Meeting. 8th Annual Meeting. Conference Proceedings, 2002
A Ho:YAG laser used for transmyocardial revascularization can produce histology similar to a CO/sub 2/ laser, potentially permitting the procedure to be done with less invasive fiber-optic delivery systems. Thoracoscopic and percutaneous systems are under development.

Ho:YAG single-crystal fiber amplifier

Laser Congress 2019 (ASSL, LAC, LS&C), 2019
We study the amplification properties of Ho:YAG SCF grown by µ-PD technique. Output power of 8 W is achieved with 1 W seed, corresponding to a gain of 8 and a slope efficiency of 46.3%.
