Distributed Measurement Data Gathering about Moving Objects

open access: yesWireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
This paper describes approaches to gathering measurement data about moving objects in networks with low bandwidth. The first approach uses Fog computing conception and suggests moving assessing the quality of the measurement data into measuring points. The second approach uses prediction of telemetry quality by mining models.

Automating joiners [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Pictures taken from different view points cannot be stitched into a geometrically consistent mosaic, unless the structure of the scene is very special.

Parallel N‐Body Simulation Based on the PM and P3M Methods Using Multigrid Schemes in conjunction with Generic Approximate Sparse Inverses

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
During the last decades, Multigrid methods have been extensively used for solving large sparse linear systems. Considering their efficiency and the convergence behavior, Multigrid methods are used in many scientific fields as solvers or preconditioners.

Paint a Vulgar Picture. On the Relationship Between Images and Projects in Our Work

open access: yespiano b, 2020
The essay is a reflection on the production of images in the work of our practice, Dogma. Since the onset of our work, we were interested in architectural images as both explanations of architecture and real abstractions, and in developing a ...

Power-law correlation and discreteness in cosmological N-body simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We analyse with simple real-space statistics the Virgo consortium's cosmological N-body simulations. Significant clustering rapidly develops well below the initial mean interparticle separation \Lambda_i, where the gravitational force on a particle is ...

Numerical Simulation of the Time Evolution of Small‐Scale Irregularities in the F‐Layer Ionospheric Plasma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geophysics, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
Dynamics of magnetic field‐aligned small‐scale irregularities in the electron concentration, existing in the F‐layer ionospheric plasma, is investigated with the help of a mathematical model. The plasma is assumed to be a rarefied compound consisting of electrons and positive ions and being in a strong, external magnetic field.

Efficient Probabilistic and Geometric Anatomical Mapping Using Particle Mesh Approximation on GPUs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomedical Imaging, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
Deformable image registration in the presence of considerable contrast differences and large size and shape changes presents significant research challenges. First, it requires a robust registration framework that does not depend on intensity measurements and can handle large nonlinear shape variations.
