Enhancing Magnetic Hyperthermia at the Cell Membrane by Anchoring 92R‐Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles to Low‐Endocytic CCR9 Surface Receptors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

Detection and Genotyping of Epstein-Bar Virus Among Paraffin Embedded Tissues of Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Patients in Ahvaz, Iran

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 2018
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a DNA virus which belongs to the Herpesviridae family, has been infected with 90% of the world’s population. EBV is transmitted through saliva and associated with different diseases such as Infectious Mononucleosis ...

Epstein‐Barr Virus Expressed Long Non‐Coding RNA (lncBARTs) Regulate EBV Latent Genome Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EBV produces abundant level of lncBARTs, which are essential for maintaining viral genome replication in EBV‐associated cancers. LncBARTs interact with a complex comprising BRD4, CTCF and viral protein EBNA1 at EBV oriP region. This interaction tethers oriP to host chromosomes, facilitating EBV episome replication.

Classic Hodgkin lymphoma transformation into composite lymphoma complicated with Guillain‒Barré syndrome after chemotherapy: A case report

open access: yesCurrent Problems in Cancer: Case Reports
Classic Hodgkin lymphoma rarely undergoes pathological transformation, and the transformation type is usually common non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This study describes a 71-year-old male diagnosed with stage III classic Hodgkin lymphoma positive for Epstein‒Barr

Association of group erythrocyte antigens and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma

open access: yesRegulatory Mechanisms in Biosystems, 2016
We analyzed the frequency distribution of blood groups AB0, Rhesus and Kell in patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. An increase of D− patients (31.0%) among ill in comparison to healthy individuals (16.5%) was found.

Rapid onset of hypercalcemia from high-grade lymphoma in the setting of HIV-related immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Hypercalcemia in HIV patients has been previously reported, but 1,25-(OH)2 vitamin D-mediated hypercalcemia, due to increased activity of extrarenal 1-alpha hydroxylase, is rarely described with HIV-related infections or malignancies.

Safety and Efficacy of Adoptive Transfer of Stem Cell Memory Enriched Virus Specific T Cells against CMV and EBV

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study finds that CD8⁺ TSCM cells exhibit superior self‐renewal, differentiation, and antiviral activity. Transcriptome and epigenome analyses highlight MAPK cascade regulation in TSCM cells. In vivo, virus‐specific TSCM cells show enhanced persistence and tumor protection.

Targeting Cancer Cells and Tumor Microenvironment in Preclinical and Clinical Models of Hodgkin Lymphoma Using the Dual PI3Kδ/γ Inhibitor RP6530

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2018
Purpose: Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and the hyperactivation of the PI3K/AKT pathway are involved in the pathogenesis of Hodgkin lymphoma and affect disease outcome. Because the δ and γ isoforms of PI3K are overexpressed in Hodgkin/Reed–Sternberg

Nanomedicine for the Treatment of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or NHL, is the predominant category of lymphoma. NHL is a type of lymphoid hematopoietic malignancy which approximately 70,000 Americans are diagnosed with annually, with the number of diagnoses growing annually.

Spectrum of malignancies among the population of adults living with HIV infection in China: A nationwide follow-up study, 2008-2011. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundAlthough increasingly studied in high-income countries, there is a paucity of data from the Chinese population on the patterns of cancer among people living with HIV (PLHIV).MethodsWe conducted a nationwide follow-up study using routinely ...
