Filling time by plugging the holes
ACM SIGGRAPH 2007 posters, 2007We explore a new technique for video frame rate up-conversion (FRUC). A noniterative multilayer motion estimation algorithm is investigated, based on spatio-temporal smoothness constraints. Our algorithm's performance is at par with complicated iterative algorithms based on motion segmentation.

Laser scans of real objects produce data sets (point clouds) which may have holes, due to problems with visibility or with the optical properties of the surface. We describe a method for detecting and filling these holes. After detecting the boundary of the hole, we fit an algebraic surface patch to the neighbourhood and sample auxiliary points.

Astrochronology The periodic nature of Earth's orbit around the Sun produces cycles of insolation reflected in climate records. Conversely, these climate records can be used to infer changes in the dynamics of the Solar System, which is inherently chaotic and not always similarly periodic.

Framework for 3D object hole filling
2015 Fifth National Conference on Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing and Graphics (NCVPRIPG), 2015In this paper we address the problem of hole filling in a point cloud of 3D object. Even with most popular 3D scanning devices like Microsoft Kinect and Time of Flight (ToF) cameras, occlusions during the scanning process result in occurrence of missing regions or holes in 3D data.

Cement Mantle Retention: Filling the Hole
Orthopedics, 2009Revision total hip surgery requires a number of techniques that optimizes outcomes while minimizing bone loss. One such technique that has proven useful in revision of the femoral components in revision total hip surgery is leaving an intact cement mantle in place and cementing a new prosthesis within the intact cement mantle. Careful patient selection
