Enhanced hole injection and transport in molybdenum-dioxide-doped organic hole-transporting layers
Journal of Applied Physics, 2008We have found that molybdenum dioxide (MoO2) is an excellent dopant for enhancing electrical conductivities in organic hole-transporting layers. We fabricated hole-only devices with an alpha-sexithiophene (α-6T) layer doped with MoO2 at various concentrations to investigate how doping MoO2 into the α-6T layers influences the hole-injection and hole ...

Study of Electron Transport Layer‐Free and Hole Transport Layer‐Free Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells
Solar RRL, 2021The selective contacts in perovskite solar cells play a major role in solar cell (SC) performance and optimization. Herein, the inverted architecture is focused on, where systematically the electron transport layer (ETL) and the hole transport layer (HTL) from the SC structure are eliminated.

Atomic layer deposition of NiO hole-transporting layers for polymer solar cells
Nanotechnology, 2015NiO is an attractive hole-transporting material for polymer solar cells (PSCs) owing to its excellent stability and electrical/optical properties. This study demonstrates, for the first time, fabrication of uniform, defect-free, and conformal NiO ultra-thin films for use as hole-transporting layers (HTLs) in PSCs by atomic layer deposition (ALD ...

Abstract The fill factor (FF) as an important photovoltaic parameter is related to the property of transport layers and active layers for organic solar cells (OSCs). Herein, we propose a simple method to improve FF by using inorganic-organic composite hole transport layer (HTL) in OSCs. Through incorporating inorganic metal oxide, vanadium pentoxide (

Insertion of hole-blocking layer (HBL) between the hole-transporting layer (HTL) and hole-injection layer for tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3)-based organic light-emitting device is shown to improve the current efficiency by 30%. The improvement was attributed to the better electron-hole balance in the device.

Compact Layer Free Perovskite Solar Cells with a High-Mobility Hole-Transporting Layer
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2016A high-mobility diketopyrrolopyrrole-based copolymer (P) was employed in compact layer free CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite solar cells as a hole-transporting layer (HTL). By using the P-HTL, the 6.62% device efficiency with conventional poly-3-hexylthiophene was increased to 10.80% in the simple device configuration (ITO/CH3NH3PbI3/HTL/MoO3/Ag).

Efficient hole injection by doping of hexaazatriphenylene hexacarbonitrile in hole transport layer
Thin Solid Films, 2009Abstract Hexaazatriphenylene-hexacarbonitrile (HAT) was used as a dopant in hole transport layer and hole injection properties of the HAT doped hole transport layer were studied. Hole injection was greatly improved by doping of the HAT in the hole transport material and a driving voltage was lowered by more than 3 V.

Enhanced Hole Transport in Polyfluorene Polymer by Using Hole Injection Layer
2014Hole transport in poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) are measured by performing current density- voltage (J-V) measurements as a function of temperatures. For the J–V measurements, F4TCNQ is used as hole injection layer (HIL). Two different devices of PFO polymer are fabricated F4TCNQ having device configuration ITO/PFO/Au (with interface modification ...

Single-layer small molecular organic light emitting diodes without hole transport layer
Thin Solid Films, 2009Abstract Organic light emitting devices based on tris-8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum with an ultra-thin insulating film instead of a hole-transporting layer were investigated. Three kinds of single-layer devices were fabricated with silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ), alumina (Al 2 O 3 ) or polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon™) as the insulating films, and they ...
