Durkheim on power and holiness

open access: yesScripta Instituti Donneriani Aboensis, 1972
Emile Durkheim has as nobody else brought together power and holiness as pre-requisites for each other. Power was holiness, and holiness was power. Power should here be understood as the ability to act collectively or on the behalf of the collective ...

Efficient Polaron Recombination and Fast Energy Transfer in a Deep Blue Phosphorescent Pt(II) Complex via Covalently Fused p‐Type Host

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Achieving high‐efficiency deep‐blue phosphorescent OLEDs is limited by intermolecular kinetic bottlenecks. We overcome this using a single‐molecule fused emitter architecture, Pt‐SP‐tCz, combining a p‐type host and Pt(II) dopant. This design enables zero‐radius intramolecular energy transfer (ZRIET) and a novel ZETPLEX mechanism.

Metal Battery Anode: Rich in Electrons, Rich in Problems: A Critical Review from Industrial Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metal‐anode batteries using Li, Na, Mg, and Ca offer exceptionally high energy density, but dendrites, unstable interphases, cracking, and pore formation hinder durability and safety. This review shows how careful electrolyte and interphase design can stabilize these reactive metals.

Loving the Neighbour and the Resident Alien in Leviticus 19 as Ethical Redefinition of Holiness

open access: yesOld Testament Essays, 2018
“Loving the neighbour” is generally accepted as fundamental to Judeo-Christian theological ethics. However, few reflect on the implications of extending “loving the neighbour” (Lev 19:18) to “loving the resident alien/foreigner” (Lev 19:33-34) within the

Atomic‐Scale Tracing of Lithium Trapped in Copper Current Collectors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Does lithium diffuse into the copper current collector during cycling in lithium‐metal batteries? This study unveils, at the atomic scale, that lithium is trapped at grain boundaries and junctions, already after only one plating/stripping cycle. After three and more cycles, the copper foil surface becomes nanocrystalline and oxidized.
