Influence of Gallic Acid-Containing Mouth Spray on Dental Health and Oral Microbiota of Healthy Cats—A Pilot Study

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2022
This pilot study aimed to investigate the effects of gallic acid-containing mouth spray on oral microbiota in healthy cat subjects. Forty healthy cats were recruited and randomly allocated to the control (G1; n = 20) and treatment groups (G2; n = 20 ...

A Novel Simulation Approach for Damage Evolution during Tailored Forming

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional damage models are struggling to accurately and efficiently simulate large‐scale three‐dimensional models with a great number of degrees of freedoms. A new gradient‐enhanced damage model based on the extended Hamilton principle can significantly reduce the computation time while ensuring mesh‐independence which is suitable to use in tailored

Socio-economic status and physical health outcomes : the need for change in theoretical formulations : thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Psychology at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The Black Report (Department of Health and Social Security, 1980) , which was a seminal publication in the field of health inequality, proposed several possible theoretical explanations for the phenomenon of socio-economic health inequality.

Analysis of Temperature and Stress Distribution on the Bond Properties of Hybrid Tailored Formed Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Hybrid materials enable high‐performance components but are challenging to process. This study explores an inductive heating concept with spray cooling for steel–aluminum specimens in a two‐step process including friction welding and cup backward extrusion.

Modeling National Latent Socioeconomic Health and Examination of Policy Effects via Causal Inference [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
This research develops a socioeconomic health index for nations through a model-based approach which incorporates spatial dependence and examines the impact of a policy through a causal modeling framework. As the gross domestic product (GDP) has been regarded as a dated measure and tool for benchmarking a nation's economic performance, there has been a

Nanoparticle‐Coated X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 Powder for Additive Manufacturing—Part II: Processability by Powder Bed Fusion of Metals Using a Laser Beam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this manuscript, the processability of X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 powder coated with silicon carbide, silicon, and silicon nitride nanoparticles is investigated. The amount of nanoparticles varies from 0.25 to 1 vol%. By coating the powder feedstock material with nanoparticles, an enlargement of the process window and an increase in the build rate are achieved.

Latent Causal Socioeconomic Health Index [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
This research develops a model-based LAtent Causal Socioeconomic Health (LACSH) index at the national level. Motivated by the need for a holistic national well-being index, we build upon the latent health factor index (LHFI) approach that has been used to assess the unobservable ecological/ecosystem health.
