A Novel Simulation Approach for Damage Evolution during Tailored Forming
Traditional damage models are struggling to accurately and efficiently simulate large‐scale three‐dimensional models with a great number of degrees of freedoms. A new gradient‐enhanced damage model based on the extended Hamilton principle can significantly reduce the computation time while ensuring mesh‐independence which is suitable to use in tailored

Modeling National Latent Socioeconomic Health and Examination of Policy Effects via Causal Inference [PDF]
This research develops a socioeconomic health index for nations through a model-based approach which incorporates spatial dependence and examines the impact of a policy through a causal modeling framework. As the gross domestic product (GDP) has been regarded as a dated measure and tool for benchmarking a nation's economic performance, there has been a

In this manuscript, the processability of X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 powder coated with silicon carbide, silicon, and silicon nitride nanoparticles is investigated. The amount of nanoparticles varies from 0.25 to 1 vol%. By coating the powder feedstock material with nanoparticles, an enlargement of the process window and an increase in the build rate are achieved.

Latent Causal Socioeconomic Health Index [PDF]
This research develops a model-based LAtent Causal Socioeconomic Health (LACSH) index at the national level. Motivated by the need for a holistic national well-being index, we build upon the latent health factor index (LHFI) approach that has been used to assess the unobservable ecological/ecosystem health.
