A mailed survey was used to identify the vocational interests of physician assistants (PAs) as measured by Holland’s Self-Directed Search (SDS) Form R. A random sample of 2,323 PAs from the American Academy of Physician Assistants’ mailing list was sent a survey to identify a pool of practicing PAs satisfied with their career choices for further study

Measures of consistency for Holland-type codes

Abstract “Consistency” in Holland's theory refers to the extent to which more closely related scale types are found together in codes of the Self-Directed Search sort. This paper describes two new measures of consistency. One is based on the hexagonal model and is for use with 3-point codes.

Congruence between Parents' and Children's Three-Letter Holland Codes

In this study the associations of three-letter Holland codes of 40 parents and their children (20 mothers and daughters, 20 fathers and sons) were analyzed. Implications for school counselors, based on the results, are briefly discussed.
