Experimental Study on Hollow Blocks with Wastes [PDF]
The article presents an experimental study on concrete blocks prepared by using waste types such as fly ash as a cement substitution, waste of plastic bottles and wood waste as replacements for sand and polyester fibers waste as a dispersed reinforcement. The mechanical characteristics of concrete with fly ash and polyester fibers were determined.

Thermoelectric phenomenon in hollow blocks
The work presented in this article describes thermoelectric effect in hollow blocks for heat waste harvesting purposes. The study consists of developing a numerical model formed by a heat transfer equation coupled to thermoelectric effects equations to study thermoelectric generators(TEG) incorporated inside Lebanese hollow blocks through two ...

Hollow block masonry wall reinforced by built-in structural configuration: Seismic behavior analysis
This paper proposes a new type of wall with built-in structural configuration. Common blocks with single-row holes serve as grouted recesses in the construction of built-in structural columns, core columns, and diagonal braces of the wall.

Behaviour of Interlocking Hollow Concrete Blocks [PDF]
India is one of the highly populated countries of the world. It ranks the second in population next to China. Besides this, major section of the people live below poverty line. Due to over population, poverty, high land value and house deficit, major cities like Delhi and Mumbai are covered by slums.

The Durability of Large-Block Hollow Ceramics
Abstract Increased requirements for heat insulation of building enclosure contribute to widening of modern effective building materials. One of those items is large-block hollow ceramics. Large-block hollow ceramics is actively used for building enclosure because of high properties and increasing production.

Splitting test experimental dataset of hollow concrete blocks
Masonry structures are widely used nowadays for their advantages like low-cost workmanship, efficiency and fast construction techniques. The compressive strength of the materials that compose masonry (block and mortar) is very important to the behavior of the system, but the tensile strength is even more significant for the standards and building codes.
