Adsorption‐Engineered Hydrocarbon Ionomers for Durable Proton‐Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrocarbon ionomers suffer from oxidation‐driven interfacial degradation in PEM fuel cell cathodes, leading to catalyst instability. Here, adsorption‐engineered poly(fluorene) ionomers decouple interfacial anchoring from oxidative degradation, enabling strong catalyst–ionomer interactions while resisting electrochemical oxidation.

Review of Inorganic Separator Engineering for Next‐Generation Lithium–Sulfur Batteries: Compromise or Cornerstone?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inorganic compound‐modified separators transform lithium–sulfur batteries from passive polysulfide confinement to active reaction‐pathway regulation. A Practical Relevance Index (PRI)‐guided framework bridges interfacial chemistry of inorganic separators with practical constraints, establishing unified design principles for scalable, high‐energy ...

Key plasma processes in LaB6 thermionic hollow cathodes operating in He, D2, Ar, and Xe at 4–200 Pa and 0.25–5 A cm−2

open access: yesAIP Advances
Key physical processes in a thermionic hollow cathode plasma are identified using an experimental dataset and a zero-dimensional model. Model predictions for voltage are in generally good agreement with the dataset when it is assumed that the plasma is ...
