Synthesis of Double-Shelled LiMn2O4 Hollow Microspheres with Enhanced Electrochemical Performance for Lithium Ion Batteries

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
Double-shelled LiMn2O4 hollow microspheres have been prepared from hydrothermally synthesized urchin-like α-MnO2 spheres. A large hollow interior and broad gap between exterior and interior shells are clearly observed within the hollow microspheres ...

12Cao-7Al2o3 Electride Hollow Cathode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The use of the electride form of 12CaO-7Al.sub.2O.sub.3, or C12A7, as a low work function electron emitter in a hollow cathode discharge apparatus is described.

Magnetized hollow cathode activated magnetron

open access: yes, 2015
Planar magnetron in which the target is coupled with a magnetized hollow cathode is presented. Detailed principles of such arrangements are explained. The hollow cathode activated magnetron produces intense and stable plasmas in a wider interval of the ...

Bioelectrochemically Powered Out‐of‐Equilibrium Hydrogels Enable Feedback‐Regulated Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioelectrochemically powered hydrogel operates far from equilibrium via an antagonistic redox cycle that regulates disulfide exchange within a polyrotaxane network. Coupling electrochemical mediator cycling with enzymatic feedback enables dynamic control of hydrogel mechanics and transport properties, driving glucose‐responsive insulin release with ...

Self‐Responsive Plastron Maintenance on a Superhydrophobic Mesh via Locally Integrated Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a self‐switchable SHM‐E surface that enables rapid, autonomous plastron self‐repair and long‐term stability. Plastron loss triggers circuit closure and localized electrolysis, while capillary spreading rapidly restores a continuous plastron and self‐terminates the current.

Electronegativity‐Guided Site Differentiation in High‐Entropy Alloy for pH‐Universal Hydrogen Evolution Reactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Electronegativity‐guided site differentiation is realized in a CoNiCuMoW high‐entropy alloy, where Co/Ni sites optimize hydrogen binding strength, Mo/W sites promote water dissociation, and Cu‐associated sites contribute to balanced hydrogen adsorption.

28,000 Hour Xenon Hollow Cathode LifeTest Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The International Space Station Plasma Contactor System requires a hollow cathode assembly (HCA) with a lifetime of at least 18,000 hours. Critical components of the HCA include the hollow cathode and electron emitter.

RF Plasma CVD Using Hollow Cathode Discharge

open access: yes, 1988
We have made a-Si photoreceptors at low pressure to prevent the formation of SimHn powders and by separating the growing surface from the high density plasma.

Oxygen Partial Pressure as a Kinetic Descriptor for Single‐Crystal Morphology in Mid‐Nickel Layered Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Scalable synthesis of single‐crystal mid‐nickel cathodes demands precise kinetic control over competing densification and grain growth. Oxygen partial pressure emerges as a quantitative descriptor of effective grain‐boundary mobility, acting through changes in the apparent sintering activation barrier.
