Designing composite steel beams with precast concrete hollow-core slabs
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2000This paper presents a design procedure for steel beams acting compositely with proprietary precast hollow-core slabs. It also contains selected underpinning theoretical analyses that illustrate the rationale behind the design formulae and recommendations.

Experiments on composite steel beams with precast concrete hollow core floor slabs
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2000Precast concrete hollow core floor units are frequently used in multistorey steel-framed buildings where they bear on to the top flanges of universal beams. The steel beam is normally designed in bending in isolation from the concrete slab and no account is taken of the composite beam action available with the precast units.

Reinforced concrete cover in the road culvert cover design, in order to facilitate the construction, usually using precast reinforced concrete solid slab, but the overall cost is not low. This article researched a reinforced concrete multi-ribbed hollow composite slab, it based on the theory of reinforced concrete multi-ribbed slab structures, using a ...

Composite steel beams with precast hollow core slabs: behaviour and design
Progress in Structural Engineering and Materials, 2002AbstractThis article reviews the design and behaviour of composite beams with precast hollow core slabs in multi‐storey buildings for gravity loading. A brief history of composite construction and introduction to precast–composite construction is given, followed by an overview of recent research work on various factors affecting the design.

A parametric study of steel-concrete composite beams with hollow core slabs and concrete topping
Structures, 2020Abstract The use of industrialized elements results in the speed of execution, it avoids waste of materials, and it meets sustainability requirements. The steel profiles and hollow core slabs are included in this scope. The hollow core slab presents superior quality than cast in-situ structural elements, and it is produced in specific environments ...

PERFORMANCE OF PRECAST PRESTRESSED HOLLOW CORE SLAB WITH COMPOSITE CONCRETE TOPPING
PCI Journal, 1973This load test of a machine-made hollow-core slab with composite topping verified a number of accepted industry design and fabrication practices, specifically the following: 1. Impact test hammer data taken on the side of the member provided an accurate assessment of concrete strength as determined by uncracked deflection behavior and ultimate moment ...

Composite action of precast hollow core slabs with structural topping
Czasopismo Techniczne.
