Liquid‐Responsive Shape‐Memory Nanofiber‐Reinforced Scaffolds for Cartilage Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A liquid‐responsive shape‐memory, nanofiber‐reinforced QCG scaffold combines conformal defect filling, an aligned architecture that is structurally permissive for endogenous cell infiltration, and sustained KGN release. This integrated design enhances BMSC viability, migratory activity, and chondrogenic differentiation and promotes hyaline cartilage ...

A novel thin film composite hollow fiber osmotic membrane with one-step prepared dual-layer substrate for sludge thickening

open access: yes, 2019
Forward osmosis (FO) membranes have received attention as an energy-efficient and low-cost technique in stream concentrating processes. In this work, a novel double-skinned hollow fiber thin film composite (TFC) FO membrane has been successfully ...

Persistent Zn2+ Influx‐Mediated Deacetylation of ANXA2 Regulates the “Zn2+‐Autophagic Flux” and Alleviates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc transporter SLC39A14 sustains intracellular Zn2+ levels to activate SIRT3‑dependent ANXA2 deacetylation at K302. This modification weakens ANXA2‑mTOR binding and releases autophagic‑flux suppression in nucleus pulposus cells. Dysregulated Zn2+ homeostasis disrupts this axis to drive intervertebral disc degeneration.

Bioelectrochemically Powered Out‐of‐Equilibrium Hydrogels Enable Feedback‐Regulated Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioelectrochemically powered hydrogel operates far from equilibrium via an antagonistic redox cycle that regulates disulfide exchange within a polyrotaxane network. Coupling electrochemical mediator cycling with enzymatic feedback enables dynamic control of hydrogel mechanics and transport properties, driving glucose‐responsive insulin release with ...

Materials and Fabrication of Photocatalytic Hollow Fibers and Hollow Fiber Membranes

open access: yesMaterials
Photocatalysis is widely used for toxic air and water pollutant degradation, water slitting and H2 production, and the reduction of CO2 to useful hydrocarbons. Hollow fibers (HFs) have been widely used as photocatalyst immobilizers for advanced oxidation and reduction applications under batch conditions, with active semiconductors either applied on ...

Supramolecular Chiral Assemblies from Benzoselenadiazole‐Alanine‐Acylhydrazone Conjugates Enable Cardioprotection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The C3‐symmetric conjugate TASe, which integrates benzoselenadiazole, alanine, and acylhydrazone modules, self‐assembles into a chalcogen‐/hydrogen‐bonded porous framework in the solid state and uniform chiral nanospheres in aqueous media. These assemblies protect cardiomyocytes from doxorubicin‐induced oxidative injury by scavenging intracellular ...
