Monte Carlo simulations on rare-earth Holmium ultra-thin films

open access: yes, 2009
Motivated by recent experimental results in ultra-thin helimagnetic Holmium films, we have performed an extensive classical Monte Carlo simulation of films of different thickness, assuming a Hamiltonian with six inter-layer exchange constants.

Theory of commensurable magnetic structures in holmium

open access: yes, 1996
The tendency for the period of the helically ordered moments in holmium to lock into values which are commensurable with the lattice is studied theoretically as a function of temperature and magnetic field.

Temperature‐Induced Nonvolatile Switching through Thermal Hysteresis in a Gd3Fe5O12/Ho3Fe5O12 Exchange‐Coupled Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Bilayer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reducing power consumption in spintronic memory remains a major challenge due to the need for high current densities. A bilayer of gadolinium and holmium iron garnets enables purely temperature‐induced, nonvolatile magnetic switching with bistable states within a ±25 K range. This approach achieves up to 66‐fold lower energy use than current spin–orbit

HSP90AB1‐Mediated Ubiquitin‐Proteasome Degradation of ITGBL1 Promotes Osteosarcoma Progression by Inhibiting Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress‐Induced Autophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delineates a novel HSP90AB1‐ITGBL1 signaling axis governing osteosarcoma. HSP90AB1 promotes K63‐linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of ITGBL1. Restoring ITGBL1 induces reactive oxygen species‐dependent endoplasmic reticulum stress and pro‐death autophagy, suppressing tumor growth and metastasis.

Holmium Laser for Endoscopic Treatment of Benign Tracheal Stenosis

open access: yesInternational Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, 2017
Introduction Laryngotracheal stenosis is a difficult problem with varied etiology and various treatment options. The holmium laser represents another tool for the treatment of benign tracheal stenosis.

Ejecta‐Modulated Bubble Dynamics Play a Dominant Role in Stone Retropulsion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stone motion during laser ablation is shown to result primarily from asymmetric cavitation bubble collapse, not from ejecta recoil. This challenges long‐standing assumptions and highlights the dominant role of bubble dynamics in laser–material interactions.

Research of the Impact of Silicon Doping with Holmium on its Structure and Properties Using Raman Scattering Spectroscopy Methods

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
Each crystal structure has its own phonon modes, which appear in the Raman spectrum of Raman scattering. In the case of silicon, phonon modes associated with the diamond structure of silicon can be detected. In a Raman spectrum, the position of the lines,

Hydrothermal Synthesis of Layered Double Hydroxides Doped with Holmium, Thulium and Lutetium

open access: yesInorganics, 2022
For the first time, nickel-aluminum layered double hydroxides containing holmium, thulium or lutetium cations were successfully synthesized via the coprecipitation method followed by hydrothermal treatment.

Dispersion Measurement of Ultra-High Numerical Aperture Fibers covering Thulium, Holmium, and Erbium Emission Wavelengths

open access: yes, 2018
We present broadband group velocity dispersion (GVD) measurements of commercially available ultra-high numerical aperture fibers (UHNA1, UHNA3, UHNA4, UHNA7 and PM2000D from Coherent-Nufern). Although these fibers are attractive for dispersion management
