Cylindrical rainbow hologram

Applied Optics, 1985
A cylindrical rainbow hologram is studied with a view to widening the horizontal viewing zone by using some unique mirror elements. The experimental result is compared with the calculation in reference to image blur and visual field restriction, both of which are caused by the fact that the rainbow hologram takes the shape of a cylinder. As a result, a

How to talk to a hologram

Proceedings of the 11th international conference on Intelligent user interfaces, 2006
There is a growing need for creating life-like virtual human simulations that can conduct a natural spoken dialog with a human student on a predefined subject. We present an overview of a spoken-dialog system that supports a person interacting with a full-size hologram-like virtual human character in an exhibition kiosk settings.

Fresnel-Transform Representation of Holograms and Hologram Classification*

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1966
The transmittance of a hologram is described in terms of Fresnel transformation. This description facilitates the establishment of requirements for the hologram-recording material and it leads naturally to a classification of holograms made from plane transmitting objects illuminated by a point source.

Acoustic Metagrating Holograms

Advanced Materials
AbstractMetasurface holograms represent a common category of metasurface devices that utilize in‐plane phase gradients to shape wavefronts, forming holographic images through the application of the generalized Snell's law (GSL). While conventional metasurfaces focus solely on phase gradients, metagratings, which incorporate higher‐order wave ...

Random-dot hologram

Optics Letters, 1990
In an attempt to make an easily viewable and self-contained test for stereopsis, a white-light reflection hologram was made of a Juleszian random-dot stereogram. The resulting hologram was free of monocular cues.
