Speckle reduction in holographic displays

Ultra-High-Definition Imaging Systems IV, 2021
Speckles, resultant to the randomized interference of coherent fields, are inherent in holographic displays. Speckle in holographic displays leads to low signal-to-ratio in the reconstructed holographic images and causes potential eye-safety issues. In this invited paper, recent works on speckle reduction in holographic displays either by modulating ...

Holographic Displays for Future IT

Biomedical Optics and 3-D Imaging, 2010
Real time holographic display by simple aggregation of digital camera-projector array is demonstrated as the rudimentary holographic TV by holographic thoughts but getting rid of the necessity of coherent interference for conventional holography.

Holographic Displays for Computer Assisted Tomography

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1977
Generalized holographic methods may be used to provide three-dimensional displays from a series of adjacent tomograms. Two such methods are described. In the first method, the tomograms are simultaneously recorded as a single "space-multiplex" hologram, which thus reproduces the N images in proper relation to each other in space.

Holographic - Liquid Crystal Displays

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
This paper describes a new family of displays which combine the versatility of liquid crystal displays with the 3-D perception and look-around conveyed by holograms. Results obtained with computer generated stereograms, coupled to dynamic scattering and twisted nematic displays, will be discussed together with possible applications.

Properties of DMDs for holographic displays

Journal of Modern Optics, 2015
Digital micromirror device’s (DMD) properties as being a display device for holographic displays are investigated. High speed, a large separation between reconstructed image and reconstruction beam, two symmetric diffraction patterns, and low intensity (0,0)th-order beam at a blazed grating condition are the desired properties for the displays.

HOLOGRAPHIC HEAD-UP DISPLAY

1970
Abstract : A head-up display system as used by an aircraft commander must provide a simulation of the real-world exterior to his vehicle, and, at the same time, represent any change in his attitude with respect to a predetermined segment of this real world. In the particular case of an aircraft landing approach, one can characterize the pilot's view of

Holographic display of digital images

Proceedings of the November 14-16, 1967, fall joint computer conference on - AFIPS '67 (Fall), 1967
An optical hologram is a two-dimensional photographic plate which preserves information about the wavefront of coherent light which is diffracted from an object and is incident upon the plate. A properly illuminated hologram yields a three-dimensional wave-front identical to that from the original object, and thus the observed image is an exact ...

Holographic Moving Map Display

Optical Engineering, 1974
A high brightness display is achieved using tungsten sources to read out phase image plane holograms. Full color is provided by using three superimposed component holograms derived from three primary color separation object transparencies of the original subject.

A layered type holographic display

2012 11th Euro-American Workshop on Information Optics, 2012
A projection type holographic display which projects an electronically generated holographic image and a display image as foreground and background images, respectively, to enhance visual effects, is introduced. This display allows displaying any size of holographic images and the holographic image with a volume floating on the background image will ...

Holographic panorama display system

2015 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan, 2015
In this paper, we proposed a holographic panorama display system. The presented scheme uses panorama technology display a holography images on the HoloAD platform. We adopt color correction method to perform image pre-processing and then find the feature points of the input image and match with each other.
