Pseudo-Degeneracy in Handbell Modes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
The vibrational modes of handbells exist in nearly-degenerate pairs which have been split by nonuniformities in the bell. The possibility of intentionally re-combining a pair into pseudo-degeneracy was explored by adding mass to various locations on a C4 handbell.

INVESTIGATION OF HIGH-CURRENT INTERRUPTING CONTACTS WORKING SURFACES MECHANICAL INTERACTION NATURE

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics, 2016
Introduction. The nature of the interaction of high-working surfaces of the electrical contact uniquely affects their performance. By the failure of the contacts in the main drive processes resulting from complex destructive factors affecting their ...

Simultaneous Visualization of a Paraelectric Mn:KNTN Crystal and Measurement of Its Kerr Coefficient by Digital Holographic Interferometry

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
A method of visualizing a paraelectric Mn:KNTN crystal and measuring its Kerr electrooptic coefficient by digital holographic interferometry is presented. Digital holograms of the crystal with different voltages are recorded; a series of sequential phase

Application of holography to flow visualization [PDF]

open access: yes
Laser holographic interferometry is being applied to many different types of aerodynamics problems. These include two and three dimensional flows in wind tunnels, ballistic ranges, rotor test chambers and turbine facilities. Density over a large field is

Dynamic holographic interferometry using a Bi12SiO20 photorefractive crystal and monomode optical fibres [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Dynamic holographic interferometry using polarization preserving opticai fibres as light guides and incorporating a photorefractive Bi12SiO20 (BSO) crystal as the recording medium is described.

The Application of Digital Holographic Speckle Pattern Interferometry to the Structural Condition Study of a Plaster Sample

open access: yesPhotonics
We use non-destructive Digital Holographic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (DHSPI), post-processing image analysis and one-dimensional exponential analysis to visualize, map and describe the structural condition of a plaster-based material.

Visualization of Spatial–Temporal Evolution of Light-Induced Refractive Index in Mn:Fe:KTN Co-Doped Crystal Based on Digital Holographic Interferometry

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
The dynamic refractive-index-change behavior of the light-induced process in an Mn:Fe:KTN crystal illuminated by a focused light sheet can be observed experimentally by digital holographic interferometry.

Evaluation of diffuse-illumination holographic cinematography in a flutter cascade [PDF]

open access: yes
Since 1979, the Lewis Research Center has examined holographic cinematography for three-dimensional flow visualization. The Nd:YAG lasers used were Q-switched, double-pulsed, and frequency-doubled, operating at 20 pulses per second.
