Surface Adhesion Engineering for Armored Metasurfaces and Beyond
Targeting primary causes of dysfunctionality in optical systems, an “armored” metasurface is developed based on Persson's model and Hertzian theory, enabling anti‐dust, anti‐scratch, anti‐impact, and anti‐water, heat resistance capabilities, alongside excellent optical antireflection performance.

Multi‐modal optical imaging reveals microvascular pulsatility in the brain cortex of awake and anaesthetized mice. Awake hemodynamics in male mice are found to be remarkably stable until late life, with flow pulsatility being significantly higher than in females, despite similar average perfusion.

Equinoctial: an investigation of ‘the holographic’ for developing a new collection of ekphrastic poetry [PDF]
This is a practice-led PhD in creative writing. It comprises a poetry collection, Equinoctial and a critical/reflective accompanying 'poetics'.Holography is a form of 3D imaging. Its practice spans the disciplines of science and art.

Multi‐Grained Vision–Language Alignment for Domain Generalised Person Re‐Identification
We propose MUVA, a CLIP‐based multi‐grained vision–language alignment framework, for DG Re‐ID. It overcomes nuanced information perception deficiency by jointly learning global and part‐level prompts with vision counterparts, assisted by an AM‐MSA module and an MLLM‐based visual grounding expert.

Digital aftercares: Digital retooling for agency, value, and co-vulnerability as artistic practice [PDF]
This practice-based thesis develops digital retooling as an artistic methodology that ties together socially engaged practice, speculative design, and digital arts to create original artworks and projects that rescript how dominant digital media ...

Human‐centered solution composed of a HoloLens app (client) and a Server app to predict resulting electrode properties in real time as the user manipulates the machinery (calendering in this case). This work focuses on a novel human‐centered digital assistant combining Mixed Reality (MR), Computer Vision, and Machine Learning regression to guide ...

Exosome Tethering Requires Tetherin Homodimerisation
Rather than being released from cells, exosomes can be retained at the plasma membrane via the protein tetherin. Here, we demonstrate that exosome tethering requires the formation of tetherin homodimers, and that mutations in tetherin that impair homodimer formation impair exosome tethering.

Secondary dust generation in rotary coal cutting. [PDF]
In a rotary coal cutting system, the mined coal has to be transported through the cutting path. This transportation of mined coal through the cutting zone of a rotary cutting head is comparable to a rotary grinder.

An unconventional synthesis strategy enables the direct growth of shape‐tunable nanostructures, from multi‐dot to multi‐arm designs, on silica optical fiber tips. This breakthrough boosts the sensing power of plasmonic fiber‐optic probes and unlocks new possibilities for large‐scale, in situ nanofabrication on silicate‐based substrates, including ...
