Anthropic principle favours the holographic dark energy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2005
We discuss the anthropic principle when applied to the holographic dark energy. We find that if the amplitude of the density fluctution is variable, the holographic dark energy fares better than the cosmological constant. More generally, the anthropic predictions agree better with observation for dark energy with $w_\d=p_\d/ _\d$ decreasing over time.

Advancing Machine Learning Optimization of Chiral Photonic Metasurface: Comparative Study of Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Two methods for the optimization of chiral reflection by a metamaterial made of either GaP/Air or PMMA/Air interfaces are compared, showing approaches towards fast design exploration and high‐performance results: a neural‐network pipeline and a genetic algorithm. The structures considered are characterized by a periodic, chiral texturation with a shape

On the Thermodynamic Origin of Gravitational Force by Applying Spacetime Entanglement Entropy and the Unruh Effect

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
We consider the thermodynamic origin of the gravitational force of matter by applying the spacetime entanglement entropy and the Unruh effect originating from vacuum quantum fluctuations.

Dynamic Multifunctional Metasurfaces Based on Passive Cascade Structure

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
A dynamic multifunctional metasurface is proposed in this paper. Unlike mainstream multifunctional metasurface based on programmable metasurfaces, it consists of two passive metasurfaces, presenting a significant cost advantage. By controlling the displacement, different functions such as beam steering, focusing, and OAM wave generation can be realized

Holographic Screens in Ultraviolet Self-Complete Quantum Gravity

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2014
This paper studies the geometry and the thermodynamics of a holographic screen in the framework of the ultraviolet self-complete quantum gravity. To achieve this goal we construct a new static, neutral, nonrotating black hole metric, whose outer (event ...

Review of millimeter‐wave and terahertz near‐field synthetic aperture radar imaging technology

open access: yesInfoScience, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper comprehensively reviews the development of millimeter‐wave (MMW) and terahertz (THz) near‐field imaging technologies, with an emphasis on the state of synthetic aperture radar (SAR)‐based imaging technologies. Near‐field imaging technologies are categorized into passive and active imaging modes, among which active imaging is favored
