Generation of Optical Vortex Arrays Using Single-Element Reversed-Wavefront Folding Interferometer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2012
Optical vortex arrays have been generated using simple, novel, and stable reversed-wavefront folding interferometer. Two new interferometric configurations were used for generating a variety of optical vortex lattices.

Holography as homotopy

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract We give an interpretation of holography in the form of the AdS/CFT correspondence in terms of homotopy algebras. A field theory such as a bulk gravity theory can be viewed as a homotopy Lie or L∞ algebra. We extend this dictionary to theories defined on manifolds with a boundary, including the conformal boundary of AdS ...

Full‐color holographic image capture: Cholesteric liquid crystal circular polarizer combined with geometric phase lens reduces noise in self‐interference incoherent digital holography

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
By using cholesteric liquid crystals as circular polarization filters in quarter‐waveplate condition GPL (QW‐GPL) based SIDH, a stable circular polarization state is ensured, which reduces color distortion and polarization noise, thereby significantly enhancing the reconstructed image quality in full‐color QW‐GPL‐based SIDH.

Bendable Fiber Lens for Minimally Invasive Endoscopy

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Translating ex vivo imaging to minimally invasive in vivo applications is of outstanding scientific and socioeconomic relevance. 3D imaging based on tiny lensless fiber endoscopes requires complex setups and computational schemes, so far. Bridging this gap, imaging through a unique optical fiber that mimics the functionality of a lens but is minimally ...

High‐Speed Multimode Fiber Imaging Using Binary‐Modulated Silicon Photonics Optical Phased Array

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A multimode fiber imaging system at 500 frames per second is experimentally demonstrated. It is enabled by a p‐i‐n diode‐based silicon photonics optical phased array. To simplify the electrical driving of p‐i‐n diodes, a binary modulation method with a costumed‐designed digital driver circuit is proposed. Reconstruction of each frame takes only 0.1 ms,

Reviewing the Inclusion of Artists’ Holograms in the Permanent Collections of Fine Art Museums

open access: yesArts, 2019
Opening in 1976 with the exhibition, “Through the Looking Glass”, the Museum of Holography (MOH) emphasized from the beginning the importance of artistic holography with the inclusion of several holograms by artists whose primary practice was

Dynamic Multi‐Focus 3D Laser Nanoprinting Based on Two‐Step Absorption and Computational Holography

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Low single‐focus laser powers in two‐step‐absorption 3D laser nanoprinting make parallelization efforts a viable route to increase print speeds while still relying on compact continuous‐wave lasers. Herein, an established two‐step‐absorption photoresist system with computational holography based on a digital micromirror device is combined in order to ...

Algebraic Holography

open access: yesAnnales Henri Poincaré, 2000
A rigorous (and simple) proof is given that there is a one-to-one correspondence between causal anti-deSitter covariant quantum field theories on anti-deSitter space and causal conformally covariant quantum field theories on its conformal boundary. The correspondence is given by the explicit identification of observables localized in wedge regions in ...

Wavelength-multiplexed orbital angular momentum meta-holography

open access: yesPhotoniX
The field of high-bandwidth holography has been extensively studied over the past decade. Orbital angular momentum (OAM) holography, which utilizes vortex beams with theoretically unbounded OAM modes as information carriers, showcases the large ...
