Integrative revision of the Australian carrion‐breeding Calliphorinae (Diptera: Calliphoridae): Revision of the Calliphora stygia‐ and ochracea‐groups

The Australian carrion‐breeding Calliphorinae are revised using an integrative approach combining morphology and mitogenomics. A new taxonomic key, morphological images and verified mitogenomic data, including COX1 barcodes, are provided to support the identification of species.

ABSTRACT Loricariidae is the most diverse catfish family in the Neotropics. Within this group, the genus Spectracanthicus presents conflicting phylogenetic signals: morphological studies suggest monophyly, whereas previous molecular analyses often yield unresolved relationships and taxonomic uncertainty.

Reptadeonella Busk, 1884, is one of the most common bryozoan genera reported from warm waters across all oceans and is currently represented by 29 species. Almost half of this diversity has been described in the past 10 years, including the recognition of 12 new species and documentation of morphological variations.

This review is of the recently revised circumscriptions of the Pleurophyllum Hook.f. group and Shawia J.R.Forst. & G.Forst. of subtribe Celmisiinae, both centred in New Zealand. Recognition of Shawia is supported, and phylogenetic data recover seven well‐supported subclades treated as infrageneric sections.
