Distinct Brain Drivers and Shared Cerebello–Cortical Input in ADCY5 and SGCE Hyperkinetic Movements

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Resting‐state fMRI and effective connectivity revealed distinct cerebellar–basal ganglia–cortical interactions in ADCY5 (MxMD‐ADCY5) and SGCE (MYC/DYT‐SGCE) related movement disorders. The cerebellum modulated cortex directly in MYC/DYT‐SGCE, but indirectly via basal ganglia‐cerebellar projections in MxMD‐ADCY5, which also showed reduced subthalamic ...

The GBA1 p.E427K (p.E388K) Variant Is a Risk Factor for Synucleinopathies: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Variants in GBA1 are important genetic risk factors for synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease (PD). Although several GBA1 variants are established risk or severity modifiers, the role of the p.E427K variant remains unclear.

Prevalence of metabolic diseases in the postpartum period and their impact on milk yield in Holstein cows

open access: yesBulgarian Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Inadequate preparation of cows’ diets during the dry and peripartum periods for the upcoming increased needs in milk production postpartum leads to the emergence of a negative energetic and mineral imbalance.

From the brink of extinction to regulation: northern Europe's white‐tailed eagles now face density dependence and climate constraints after rapid population growth

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Population growth reflects the combined influence of regulation and density‐independent factors operating through demographic processes. Under exceptional circumstances (e.g. populations recovering from near‐extinction), growth may initially be weakly regulated but typically slows as negative density dependence (NDD) sets in.

How AI and Digital Technologies Can Enhance Sustainable Livestock Manure Management: An Overview From Treatment to Distribution

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainable livestock manure management sits at the nexus of climate, nutrient circularity and water quality. This review explores how artificial intelligence (AI) and digital platforms are used across four management stages, that is, treatment, storage, valorisation and distribution, and figures out where integration fails to deliver ...

Genetic and phenotypic relationships among endocrine and traditional fertility traits and production traits in Holstein-Friesian dairy cows

open access: yes, 2002
The objective of this study was to estimate the heritability of a number of traditional and endocrine fertility traits in addition to d-56 predicted milk yield (MY56), and the genetic and phenotypic correlations between these traits.

Assessing the Performance of European Union Regions in the “People” and “Prosperity” Pillars of the SDGs

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the gap in subnational assessments of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by benchmarking the performance of European Union NUTS‐2 regions in the People and Prosperity pillars of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
