ABSTRACT In 1977, an Israeli transgender woman, Judy Spotheim, published an autobiographical novel entitled The Cut. It describes the emergence of a trans community in the commercial‐sex areas of Tel Aviv‐Jaffa, hoping to humanise trans women (coccinelles).
