Identification of inactivity behavior in Smart Home
2008 30th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2008To help elderly people live independently at home, the TIMC-IMAG laboratory developed Health Smart Homes called 'HIS'. These smart Homes are composed of several sensors to monitor the activities of daily living of the patients. Volunteers have accepted to be monitored during 2 years in their own flats.

The Nursing Home Behavior Problem Scale
Journal of Gerontology, 1992Nursing home patients frequently have serious disturbances of behavior that can lead to use of chemical or physical restraints. To support research into better management of these problems, we developed the Nursing Home Behavior Problem Scale (NHBPS), a 29-item inventory of serious behavior problems designed to be completed by nurses and nursing ...

Behavior-Based Home Energy Prediction
2012 Eighth International Conference on Intelligent Environments, 2012In the effort to build a sustainable society, smart home research attention is being directed toward green technology and environmentally-friendly building designs. In this paper, we analyze the distribution of home energy consumption, and then present both linear and non-linear regression learning models for predicting energy usage given known human ...

Dorsomedial Forebrain Ablations and Home Loft Association Behavior in Homing Pigeons
Brain, Behavior and Evolution, 1985In a series of experiments which involved only short distance experimental releases (800 m or less and within view of the home loft), it was demonstrated that dorsomedial forebrain ablated pigeons generally failed to reassociate with their home loft if the postablation experimental release took place soon postablation or if during the time between ...
