Rhodium nanoparticles supported on silanol-rich zeolites beyond the homogeneous Wilkinson’s catalyst for hydroformylation of olefins

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Hydroformylation is one of the largest industrially homogeneous processes that strongly relies on catalysts with phosphine ligands such as the Wilkinson’s catalyst (triphenylphosphine coordinated Rh).

Mass transfer in gas-liquid slurry reactors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A critical review is presented on the mass transfer characteristics of gas¿liquid slurry reactors. The recent findings on the influence of the presence of solid particles on the following mass transfer parameters in slurry reactors are discussed ...

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Identification of single-site gold catalysis in acetylene hydrochlorination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
There remains considerable debate over the active form of gold under operating conditions of a recently validated gold catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Ethylene/Styrene Copolymerization by (Me3SiC5H4)TiCl2(O-2,6-iPr2-4-RC6H2) (R = H, SiEt3)-MAO Catalysts: Effect of SiMe3 Group on Cp for Efficient Styrene Incorporation

open access: yesMolecules
The synthesis and structural analysis of (Me3SiC5H4)TiCl2(OAr) [OAr = O-2,6-iPr2-4-RC6H2; R = H, SiEt3] revealed that it exhibits higher catalytic activities than (tBuC5H4)TiCl2(OAr), Cp*TiCl2(OAr), with efficient comonomer incorporation in ethylene ...

Supported Homogeneous Catalysts

open access: yesPlatinum Metals Review, 1974
Almost all industrial catalysts are heterogeneous, the reaction taking place on a solid surface. During the past decade homogeneous catalysts, soluble in the liquid phase reactant, have received a great deal of attention, although they have so far found only limited industrial use, chiefly because of the difficulty of their separation from the ...
