Comparative Study of Performance and Emission Characteristics between Spark Ignition Engine and Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Engine (HCCI)

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2017
Many researchers consider Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine mode as a promising alternative to combustion in Spark Ignition and Compression Ignition Engines. The HCCI engine runs on lean mixtures of fuel and air, and the combustion is

Review of artificial neural networks for gasoline, diesel and homogeneous charge compression ignition engine

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In automotive applications, artificial neural network (ANN) is now considered as a favorable prediction tool. Since it does not need an understanding of the system or its underlying physics, an ANN model can be beneficial especially when the system is ...

The research and analysis of Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Engine

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract HCCI represents homogeneous charge compression ignition. It is a cleaner, higher thermal efficiency, and higher fuel efficiency alternative combustion technology. This engine combines the advantages of diesel and gasoline engines so that the compression ratio of diesel engines can be achieved even when gasoline is used as fuel ...

Vapor‐Phase Grain‐Boundary Anchoring Enables Molecular Toughening and Record Bending Endurance in Pilot‐Scale Roll‐to‐Roll‐Printed Flexible Perovskite Modules

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A vapor‐phase molecular toughening strategy is developed for pilot‐scale roll‐to‐roll (R2R) ‐compatible fabrication of flexible perovskite solar modules. Thiol vapor selectively regulates crystallization and anchors at grain boundaries, reducing defects while enhancing mechanical resilience.

Simulation Analysis of Combustion Parameters and Emission Characteristics of CNG Fueled HCCI Engine

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
The naturally aspirated compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine operation region is narrow between heavy knock at rich air-fuel mixture side and misfire at the lean air-fuel mixture side.

Varying Ignition Quality of a Fuel for a HCCI Engine Using a Photochemically-Controlled Additive: The Development of a ‘Smart’ Fuel

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
This study examines the possibility to provide control over ignition timing in a homogeneous charge compression ignition engine (HCCI) using a fuel additive whose molecular structure can be adapted upon exposure to UV light. The UV adapted molecule has a
